“As part of an initiative to prepare students for the NAPLAN online trial, I utilised ABC Reading Eggs to build ICT skills. Reading Eggs also supported students’ reading and comprehension on a "screen" and gave them successful strategies when working with familiar and unknown situations on computers. Students became independent after working through whole class demonstrations, small group instructions and independently set tasks monitoring their own level of competency by completing the comprehension activities. Students accessed the program at home and at school. The teacher resources have been invaluable – they are engaging for students and provide meaningful opportunities for classroom learning situations. Students began to access the Reading Eggspress Library to both research topics and read for enjoyment. We promote Reading Eggs to parents as a way for students to become lifelong readers and learners when using technology.”
